Q. How to I change my own login password?
Login to the NetGain WebView. In the System functions menu, choose Security Management -> Modify password.
Q. Why are the status of some monitors greyed, instead of green, yellow or red?
If a status of a monitor is greyed, then it means that the monitor is disabled or not-monitored. To turn it on you can click on the small 'enable monitoring' icon in the row of the monitor in the NetGain WebView's status view.
Q. What is the purpose of an alarm filter?
Alarm filters are specific to users. Each user can specify his/her own set of alarm filters. The alarm filters help the users to choose alarms that satisfy the filter criteria. Alarm filters are helpful to the user in listing the alarms in Fault Management menu items. The filters also help the user in creating alarm auto notification rules in Auto-notifcation->Notify rules.
Q. How do I create a new alarm filter?
Login to the NetGain WebView. Choose the menu item Fault Management -> Alarm filters. Click on the Create filter icon at the top of the alarm filter list, to create an alarm filter.

You can also create an alarm filter automatically to filter alarms similar to existing alarms. In Fault Management -> Browse alarms choose to view details of an alarm by clicking on the alarm's Message link. Click on the Create filter for similar alarms link at the bottom of the alarm details.
Q. How do I configure auto notifications via email, sound or sms when the system detect failures/problems?
Login to the NetGain WebView. Choose the menu item Alarms->Notify rules. Select to create an alarm management rule, where you can specify the type of notification such as email, sound etc.
